How To Eat An Elephant

Er…I really mean “How to eat a garden” because I’ve been madly trying to deal with as much of the last of the garden produce as humanly possible before we head off on our holiday. It’s total madness really. I’ve been chopping, blanching, souping, freezing, salading and pickling up a storm. I’ve also been harvesting, watering, weeding, pruning and clearing. Yes, and T-Man has been doing his share as well. I’m so tired it’s not even funny. Why does it take so dang much work before you get to go have a break? Sadly later on we’ll get home and we’ll get to do it all over again. Some of it in reverse too. Whew.

And I haven’t even mentioned the work inside the house. Tidying, dusting, cleaning, backing-up computers, laundry, packing, packing, more packing…

It’s not endless though. Tomorrow, as soon as we can get the last little bit of it all done – WE ARE GONE! Wish us luck at the Border Crossing. The Auld Homestead is being overseen by Milady Daughter and her family whilst we are absent. They get the garden produce we didn’t manage to pick yet. Big Huge Thanks, my dearest darlings!

So see ya later, gators. Hope the good weather holds. There will be volcanoes, lava tubes, obsidian, ocean waves, sand and moss. Also there is shopping scheduled. In Portland. Books. Fabrics. So excited. Can’t wait. More anon.
